SafeLane Global recruit for mechanics from a variety of backgrounds including the Military, commercial and civilian sectors.
Whether you have experience explicitly in providing mechanical support on projects within the mine action industry, or if your experience is from alternate settings, SafeLane Global has opportunities for you.
Its mechanics are responsible for ensuring the continued serviceability of vehicles, plant machinery and other machinery utilised across its international projects. Mechanics‘ scope of work covers many elements including:
- Provide regular servicing of all project mechanical assets
- Identify faults and provide necessary repairs to assets
- Maintain stores inventory, liaising with fleet manager to facilitate necessary resupplies
As a SafeLane Global mechanic, you’re responsible for conducting regular services, fault identification and necessary repairs on the project’s fleet of vehicles, plant and other assets. This ensures SafeLane Global can continue to operate efficiently in order to maintain full operational capacity at all time.
Mechanics work closely with seniors and fleet managers, liaising daily to discuss potential areas of concern relating to serviceability, operational capacity and the resupply of key equipment within the mechanical stores. The hard work and dedication of the company’s mechanics is frequently rewarded, in recognition of the vital work they do to enable projects to remain operational.
Both English and French-speaking mechanics are recruited for.
Required qualifications & experience
- Qualified mechanic
- English OR French speaking proficiency
- At least 5 years’ experience as a mechanic
- Experience of working in Africa and / or the Middle East is desired
