Over the two decades of the Vietnam War, US forces dropped over 7 million tonnes of explosives including 260 million cluster bombs.

To date, more than 40,000 Vietnamese have been killed by the landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) which are littered across the country.

As Vietnam is currently experiencing an economic boom as international companies flock to invest in the region, it is critical that clearance operations keep pace with development plans.

Vietnam’s renewable energy market is particularly flourishing, thanks to permissive physical geography and favourable government rates.

In support of the renewable energy industry, SafeLane became actively involved in an exciting project that had offshore and onshore components to consider in Vietnam in 2019.

SafeLane assisted its client with the provision of a desktop study and risk mitigation strategy.

It also provided ongoing oversight throughout the project including training, survey and clearance support.

SafeLane is ready to rapidly re-deploy to Vietnam to support your land release or marine clearance requirements, contact the team today to discuss your project.
