In our expanding market, we are seeking to appoint an Applications Support Engineer who will be our in-house expert of business applications.

In our expanding market, we are seeking to appoint an Applications Support Engineer who will be our in-house expert of business applications.

They will have the ability to review current processes, identify improvements and implement solutions. The role will include working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to support, improve and maintain our business applications. 

This role will be based out of our Ross-on-Wye location, will include hybrid working and the requirement to travel UK wide when business needs necessitate.

Key tasks include:

  • Working with the business to identify how existing applications can be leveraged to increase productivity and deliver savings for the business.
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop new application requirements and select the right product or identify where existing applications can be leveraged instead.
  • Execute day to day tasks and maintain high-performing systems for all applications and ensuring availability to business users.
  • Ensure all applications are fully supported and maintained with the support of 3rd party application support providers.
  • Act as a point of escalation within the business for application related issues & working with 3rd party support providers to ensure issues are resolved in a timely fashion.
  • Liaising with 3rd party support providers to ensure application availability and readiness is always maintained.
  • Manage application updates through test and production environments with support from 3rd party providers & key business users where required.
  • Create scripts and manage issues during UAT.
  • Documentation and development of all application related processes and procedures.
  • Key application experience; CRM and ERP.

About you

Essential criteria include

  • CRM and ERP software solutions
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Work independently in a demanding environment
  • Good time management and prioritisation
  • Ability to document procedures clearly and systematically
  • Ability to communicate effectively with members of staff at all levels
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Analytical and detail oriented
  • At least two years supporting CRM and ERP systems
  • Working on Application migration and integration Projects
  • Providing training to users
  • Experience with data integration and backup
  • Full UK Driving License (travel is an essential part of the role)

Desirable criteria include

  • Database technologies (SQL, PostgreSQL, etc)
  • Experience supporting Salesforce
  • Experience supporting Access Dimensions and / or Sage 200
  • Prince2 Practitioner / Foundation
