Indonesia

The Japanese invasion of Indonesia led to a littering of explosive remnants of war (ERW) which continue to pose a threat to the Indonesian people.

We can help

The Japanese invasion of Indonesia during WWII ended Dutch rule and laid the groundwork for the Indonesian independence movement at the end of the war.

However, it also led to a littering of explosive remnants of war (ERW) across Indonesia, which continue to pose a threat to local people to this day.

SafeLane has extensive detection and clearance experience in Indonesia; one of its most memorable projects was undertaken between 2014 and 2015 in support of seismic operations.

The reason this is the most notable project is because the environment in which the clearance teams were working were the most challenging they'd ever encountered!  In addition to thick vegetation, teams had to utilise longboats to brave mangrove swamps frequented by snakes and salt water crocodiles.

SafeLane was working in support of its client’s seismic activities in Indonesia to release land for development.

Teams found crashed aircraft on the site they were responsible for, and they identified and rendered safe many Japanese WWII bombs.

Their work demonstrates once again how long it takes to make land safe in the years after conflict.

If you're planning any form of construction work in a post-conflict environment, SafeLane is your end-to-end explosive threat mitigation service provider: contact us today.
