Taiwan

Taiwan was a Japanese military stronghold in the Western Pacific; this led to it being a key target for American bombardment in the 1940s. It remains contaminated with explosive ordnance.

Our services can remove this threat

Taiwan was a key target for American bombardment in the 1940s and its history of tension with China led to the laying of minefields in 1970.

In its role as the Japanese military stronghold in the Western Pacific, Taiwan became a key target for American bombardment in the 1940s.

Furthermore, Taiwan’s long history of tension with China led to the laying of minefields in 1970.

In the same period, aerial bombardments from Chinese artillery left its own legacy of unexploded ordnance (UXO).

While the Taiwanese government has cleared over 3.5 million meters squared of mine and bomb contaminated land, both onshore and offshore developers must proceed with caution when planning new projects in this region.

Under its previous company name, MineTech, SafeLane has worked in Taiwan on clearance project.

For example, from 2004 to 2005, SafeLane provided clearance of an area planned to be developed into a reservoir for a local village water source.

A number of teams were brought in for this project and they operated under difficult conditions due to the close proximity of local facilities to ensure the land was released for this critical infrastructure project.

Operational on land and in the marine environment globally, SafeLane is your end-to-end service provider for the mitigation of explosive threats, and for stabilisation and reconstruction efforts.  Contact the team for more information about how they can support your project.
