Leaving the armed forces? Start your new career with SafeLane Global

Leaving the armed forces can be a daunting prospect; navigating the move back to civilian life can result in a lot of uncertainty.  At SafeLane Global, we take pride in supporting and valuing those who have served their country.

We have ex-military personnel employed at all levels across all business units – and we are signatories to the Armed Forces Covenant and a silver award winner in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.

As specialists in the explosive ordnance risk mitigation and civil engineering sectors, insight and knowledge from those who have served in the armed forces is invaluable to us.

SafeLane values passion, integrity, quality, and professionalism.  We are firm believers that these values unite our civilian and ex-military staff, creating a common ground that aids the transition from employment in the forces to working in the private commercial world.

Manpower Executive Charlotte Haines has written about the topic of leaving the forces on LinkedIn and has kindly allowed us to use her article as a reference point for this blog.  As a Manpower Executive, Charlotte helps source contract staff for both our commercial and humanitarian projects internationally.

What employment opportunities does SafeLane offer service leavers?

At SafeLane, we actively recruit personnel leaving the military who want to work as contract staff, as they have the skills and expertise needed on our international projects.

In addition, if you’re looking to transition into a head-office based role, your experience can give you a head start.

We’re always keen to talk to:

  • IEDD Operators
  • EOD Operators
  • Medics
  • EDD Handlers/Trainers
  • Royal Search Engineers
  • Logisticians
  • Operations Managers
  • Project Managers

Not yet a service leaver?  It’s not too soon to get in touch with SafeLane

If you’re not quite ready to leave the forces, you might think it’s not worth getting in contact.  However, our Manpower and HR teams will always make time for an informal chat with you about the many opportunities SafeLane offers and to answer any questions you may have.

Not only can a conversation provide our team with the opportunity to get to know you, it will help you understand more about the sort of opportunities available to you when you do want to leave the military.

We appreciate that civilian career-based decisions shouldn’t be taken lightly and can take time and consideration.  Some of our personnel who are currently operating on SafeLane projects are people who we had been speaking to for up to a year before they left the forces.

In other words, it's never too soon to get in touch for a chat.

How to get in touch:

We recommend you spend some time browsing our website to learn more about the work we do.  All general contact information is also on the website, and there are case studies featuring former service personnel like our Counter EO/IED Technical Manager Daniel Carter.
