The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced that Project Masam, the ground breaking mine clearance initiative delivered in war torn Yemen, will be extended into it 9th full year of operations. In 2025 the Project expanded into Mayhdi/Hajjah Governate and this year will be not only extended for a further 12 months of operations but will further be expanded to add an additional 2 x Multi-Task demining teams in Mukallah/Hadramout Governate. SafeLane is immensely proud to have been providing continuous technical support to this unique and effective landmine/un-exploded ordnance clearance project since 2018.

Despite operating in the midst of a major conflict, the Project has successfully located, removed and destroyed 151,554 anti-tank mines, 7,358 anti-personnel mines and 8,464 improvised explosive devices, as well as 399,806 items of un-exploded ordnance. Removing these huge numbers of landmines and Explosive Remnants of War has released 81,343,277 sqm of contaminated land for the benefit of the Yemeni people.
