The Central African Republic (CAR) has had an unstable history since its independence from France in 1960. Ranging from inter-ethnic skirmishes to all-out civil war, the threat of violence in CAR has been especially prevalent since 2013.

In the context of efforts to stabilise this region, SafeLane Global has been supporting the national disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration (DDR) programme.

Working alongside their humanitarian partner client since 2017, SafeLane Global provides technical expertise, training and practical assistance relating to weapons and ammunition management.

In providing this level of comprehensive technical support to ensure the safe destruction of weapons, SafeLane Global is helping to promote a safer and more stable CAR for future generations.
