Security in Libya has often hung in the balance, never more so than in the chaos following the toppling of Muammar Gaddafi’s 42-year rule in 2011. Explosive threats have long been a concern, with deaths from landmines dating from as long ago as 1939. Since this time, multiple international wars, civil conflict and terrorist activities have only compounded the danger.

An example: explosive clearance houses have proven to have been treacherously insecure sources of material for the latest generation of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Against this backdrop, SafeLane Global has had multiple roles in Libya - including area clearance in support of humanitarian organisations.

As security conditions ebb and flow, SafeLane Global has the in-country knowledge and technical capabilities to respond to the full spectrum of explosive threat.
